St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger...
Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.
Me and vampires are a new thing actually. I haven't ever given them a real chance either so.. but I've heard many book bloggers talk about this series and I got curious. Of course. In the beginning of this book, I got so annoyed by Rose but the more I read, the more I thought she reminded me of myself when I was younger. But I wish someone had slapped me back then!
I liked Dimitri from the start and I hope to read more about him in the series. Christian also seemed like a nice guy. I really like the setting and in my mind, the academy is a dark and thrilling place.
It wasn't that exciting in the beginning but it changed after a few chapters. I tried to guess who the "bad guy" was but I was wrong and surprised. I really looking forward to read the rest of the series!

Twilight
Isabella Swan moves from sunny Phoenix to her father in Forks. She has very low expectations and literally thinks this whole year would suck, until she meets Edward Cullen and his family. There's something about him that Bella just can't get enough of and when he reveals his secret, she's not really surprised but does she know what it means? If she wants to be with Edward, she has to accept the fact that she'll always be in danger.
I've seen the first two movies and I didn't like them at all and because of that, I had very low expectations on this book. But the book were so much better than the movie and I'm so happy to get rid of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson and focus on the characters instead.
Meyer isn't the best writer but the book was easy to read, just a little repetitive. I had some problems with the instalove too but it's okay, I knew what to expect. The Cullen family is really interesting and I hope to know more about them in the other books. I bought the whole box so when I got some time for it, I will read the next three in the series.
Actually, I thought the book was very good and after like 50 pages - I was hooked! I understand why so many have read these books and I'm sorry I didn't read them a few years ago. I think I've loved the series if I was younger.
