One of Those Hideous Books Where the Mother Dies

Ruby is a fiftheen year old girl who was raised by her mother but when she dies she has to move to her father. Her father hasn't shown any interest in Ruby before so why now? Her father has a lot of money and his closest neighboor is Cameron Diaz but how is she going to survive without her mom? Or her best friend and her boyfriend?

I'm not completely sure what to think about this book. I like the writing style and it was an easy book to read. I also finished it in no-time since it's written in verse but I had som issues with Ruby. She's naive and immature and a lot of stuff seemed very unrealistic.

Sometimes it felt like the story was more focused on celebrities, good looks and money and not the real problem. It was also a little predictable but it was still OK. I wanted to know what happened to Ruby and her father and if they're ever going to be friends.
